Three suspects have been detained for 30 days on charges of being part of a criminal group that submitted false tax documents to fraudulently obtain work seniority for many individuals, causing a loss of 12.5 million lei to the Pension House. The arrests followed 30 home searches conducted by police and prosecutors, revealing that since 2018, the group had been creating fictitious employment records to help beneficiaries qualify for pensions. The group utilized non-profit associations and ghost companies to issue false employment documents in exchange for significant sums of money. Investigations indicated that over 860 individuals were affected, with the fraudulent activities leading to incorrect pension calculations and payments.
