Two men from Oradea, aged 29 and 50, are under judicial control for 60 days due to cigarette smuggling, causing an estimated loss of nearly 200,000 lei to the state budget. They were previously detained for 24 hours by police and are accused of supplying smuggled cigarettes to four other individuals from November 2025 to August 2026. The cigarettes were sold in Oradea, particularly near a local market. Investigators seized 144,680 cigarettes and cash during searches. The prosecutor has placed a protective seizure on the cigarettes, cash, and three vehicles linked to the suspects, valued at 90,285 lei. Investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the criminal activity.
