Ștefan-Daniel Micu, the general director of Brașov-Ghimbav International Airport, signed a financing contract for a photovoltaic park project on September 7, 2026. The project, valued at over 31 million lei, aims to enhance energy independence and reduce operational costs. It will include 5,432 solar panels with a maximum capacity of 3 MW and energy storage of 6 MW. The funding, primarily from the Ministry of Transport, will cover a significant portion of the costs, with the airport covering the remainder. The project is expected to be completed within 24 months, contributing to environmental sustainability and financial stability for the airport.
