Germany's air traffic control authority has implemented a drone detection system at Berlin's Brandenburg Airport to enhance safety. The system aims to identify drones early in takeoff areas and alert relevant authorities about potential risks. Transport Minister Steffen Bilger emphasized the importance of addressing drone threats around airports. This decision follows multiple drone sightings near German airports, with Brandenburg Airport reporting the highest number of incidents in the first half of the year. Other international airports in Germany are set to receive similar detection systems soon.
