Adrian Ţuţuianu, the president of the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP), emphasized the need for a comprehensive electoral code that standardizes rules across all election types. He noted current inconsistencies in electoral office compositions and timelines, which lead to confusion. The proposed code would include general rules applicable to local, parliamentary, European, presidential elections, and referendums, as well as special provisions for each type of election. Ţuţuianu also suggested that AEP should manage annual elections for vacant mayoral positions, avoiding unnecessary costs by not holding partial elections in election years.
