The head of the Permanent Electoral Authority, Adrian Ţuţuianu, announced plans to introduce a transparency procedure for a bill on early elections next week. He emphasized the need for legislative changes to ensure the electoral process can accommodate the tight timeline required for early elections. Key modifications include establishing election dates at least 75 days in advance, allowing voters abroad to register online, and reducing the number of signatures needed for candidacies. Ţuţuianu also highlighted the financial implications, estimating that early elections could cost 30% more than the 2024 elections, totaling around 112-113 million euros. He urged political parties to adopt and improve the proposed legislation before any decision on dissolving Parliament is made.
