AEP: 19.034.549 cetăţeni cu drept de vot, înscrişi în Registrul electoral până la 31 august

The Permanent Electoral Authority reported that as of August 31, 2026, there are 19,034,549 registered voters in Romania, an increase from the previous month. Of these, 17,982,576 reside in the country, while 1,051,973 live abroad. During August, 18,200 individuals were removed from the registry due to death, and 139 due to legal restrictions on voting rights. Additionally, 42 people regained their voting rights after their disqualification period ended. A total of 21,388 new voters turned 18 and were automatically registered. The electoral registry is a national system for managing voter data, maintained by authorized local officials.
