Porumboiu, while disapproving of Lungu's actions, believes the punishment was harsh. He noted Lungu's background and suggested that the incident might have been exaggerated. The AJF Vaslui suspended Lungu for one year and fined him 3,000 lei, also requesting a two-year suspension of his coaching license. Lungu denied the allegations, claiming he was merely trying to give the child guidance.
