Adrian Pânzaru, Regina Maria: „Celulele stem devin sursă de tratamente noi. Suntem prima bancă din țară care face acest lucru posibil”
Regina Maria's Stem Cell Bank has become the first in Romania authorized to prepare stem cells for clinical research and advanced therapies. This development follows over 15 years of investment in technology and quality systems. The bank can now extract and multiply mesenchymal stem cells from stored umbilical cord tissue for clinical studies. The authorization from the National Agency for Medicines allows the bank to manufacture advanced therapy medicinal products, although these are not yet available as standard treatments. The focus is on using these cells in clinical trials, particularly for conditions like severe bronchopulmonary dysplasia in premature infants.
