ADR takes measures to immediately increase validation of digital identities through ROeID

The Authority for the Digitalisation of Romania is enhancing its capacity to validate digital identities due to a surge in requests, currently processing around 10,000 daily. With 59 trained staff, they aim to clear a backlog of 25,000 requests within a week. The validation process is currently manual, focusing on security against fraud. ADR plans to implement automated validation by October 2026, which will streamline the processing of enrolment requests. They are committed to ensuring efficient access to the ROeID digital identity system while monitoring request volumes.
