Starting in 2027, high school admission will change, allowing some schools to conduct additional entrance exams. Students entering eighth grade in September 2026 will face these new requirements. While the main exam remains mandatory, schools can choose to hold their own competitions with two extra tests. Participation in these additional exams is not compulsory, and students must achieve at least a score of 5 in the National Assessment to qualify. The results of these tests will influence the final admission score, but students can still rely on the computerized distribution if they do not participate. Current proposals are still under consultation and may change before final approval.
