This initiative, part of the Pax Silica program, aims to streamline the supply chain for semiconductors and AI infrastructure while reducing reliance on China. The U.S. plans to invest up to $50 million in this project, which will improve tracking and expedite transport from trusted suppliers. Panama was chosen for its strategic trade position, with the initiative expected to lower delays and costs in international shipping. The program involves around 20 participants, including the EU and India, as part of a broader strategy to secure supply chains essential for national security.
