A new regulation in Bucharest will restrict electric scooter rentals to adults only, requiring age verification for each ride. The project, initiated by Vice Mayor Stelian Bujduveanu, prohibits the use of headphones and mandates that scooters cannot be parked on sidewalks. Users must be at least 18 years old and carry identification while riding. Scooters are only allowed on bike lanes or roads with a speed limit of 50 km/h. Improperly parked scooters must be moved within 120 minutes, or they will be removed by local police. Operators face fines for non-compliance, and the regulation will take effect 60 days after approval.
