The Casa Verde program in Romania will undergo significant changes in 2026, focusing solely on funding energy storage batteries instead of photovoltaic panels. The Minister of Environment, Diana Buzoianu, announced that 400 million lei will be allocated for this purpose, aiming to enhance energy independence and efficiency. The new program will prioritize competitive criteria for funding allocation, moving away from the previous first-come, first-served approach. Existing prosumers will be eligible for funding, and there is consideration for financing hybrid inverters. The application process will remain electronic through the AFM platform.
