Adio gropi și șantiere pe șosele: Noul tip de asfalt care rezistă până la 20 de ani
A new study suggests that steel slag combined with epoxy resin can create durable road pavements, potentially lasting up to 20 years. This mixture, known as SEAM, offers extended intervals between repairs, reducing material consumption and traffic disruptions. Researchers found that a 35% resin concentration provides a balanced lifespan of 15 years, while higher concentrations increase costs without significant environmental benefits. Although initial production costs are slightly higher, the long-term benefits include fewer repairs and reduced emissions. The study also indicates that using this industrial waste could significantly lower CO₂ emissions and improve public health, with substantial economic benefits.
