Year-on-year, retail sales in August 2026 rose by 0.9%, driven by non-food products, while food sales fell by 2.3%. Adjusted figures showed a minimal increase of 0.1% year-on-year, with declines in food and fuel sales. Overall, the first eight months of 2026 reflected a 5% decrease in retail sales, influenced by declines across various product categories.
