The deadline for updating CAEN codes has been extended to March 25, 2027, allowing businesses additional time to comply with the new classification. This decision was announced by the Minister of Economy, Irineu Darău, following the government's modification of the transition framework from CAEN Rev.2 to CAEN Rev.3. As of now, only 37.24% of professionals had completed the update, prompting the extension to prevent overwhelming the National Trade Register Office. The transition involves more than just replacing codes, as some activities have been reclassified or merged. Businesses are advised to act promptly to avoid last-minute complications and ensure compliance with the new regulations.
