Romanian ETFs listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange saw assets increase by €276 million in the first seven months of 2026, nearly tripling their size. Approximately €155 million came from new capital inflows, while €122 million resulted from the appreciation of Romanian stocks. International ETFs also increased their exposure to Romanian equities, holding around €264 million in investments. The growth of ETFs is part of a broader structural transformation in financial markets, with European ETFs holding about €3.3 trillion in assets. However, liquidity challenges persist in Romania's capital market, affecting international investment participation.
