Acting labour minister sees progress this week in healthcare pay law talks

Negotiations on Romania's public sector pay law are ongoing, with potential progress expected this week, according to Labour Minister Dragos Pislaru. He emphasized the importance of reaching an agreement with healthcare unions before addressing education sector issues. Pislaru stated that the draft law offers a significant opportunity for salary increases for public administration employees. He assured that no salaries would be cut and that two-thirds of employees are likely to see pay rises. The government maintains its fiscal impact estimate of EUR 12 billion, and simulations for salary adjustments have been completed.
