Romania and Cyprus will enhance diplomatic dialogue and coordination on European, regional, and international issues following the signing of a memorandum on political consultations. The agreement was signed by Romanian Foreign Minister Oana Țoiu and Cypriot counterpart Constantinos Kombos during a meeting in New York at the UN General Assembly. This memorandum establishes a framework for regular and structured dialogue between the two foreign ministries, focusing on key topics on the European and international agenda. The ministers discussed the strong bilateral relations and the role of their communities in fostering ties. They also emphasized the need to further develop economic cooperation and explore new areas for collaboration. Additionally, they addressed European issues, including EU enlargement and the future Multiannual Financial Framework for 2028-2034, while acknowledging Cyprus's upcoming EU Council presidency.
