The European Union and the Philippines have reached a significant agreement on a free trade treaty, set to be officially signed in 2027 after years of negotiations. Ursula von der Leyen announced this achievement following a call with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. The deal aims to strengthen economic ties and create new business opportunities, particularly benefiting SMEs, farmers, and consumers.
