Starting October 2026, certain seniors living abroad will have their pensions suspended if they fail to submit a life certificate. This certificate must be sent to the relevant Territorial Pension House by September 30 each year. Under the new law effective from September 2024, these pensioners are required to submit the certificate biannually, by March 31 and September 30. If the certificate is not submitted on time, pension payments will be suspended until the document is received. The certificate must be signed in front of a legal authority in the country of residence and can be sent via mail, fax, or email. Resuming pension payments occurs once the certificate is submitted, regardless of the delay.
