Starting Tuesday, the excise duty on diesel will be reduced by 25% to alleviate fiscal pressure on fuel prices. This temporary measure, effective from September 1-15, follows a previous 20% reduction and aims to protect citizens' purchasing power amid rising international prices. The new excise rate will be 2,103.22 lei per 1,000 liters. The adjustment reflects recent market dynamics, with significant increases in diesel prices. The Finance Ministry emphasizes that this intervention is designed to limit the cascading effects of fuel costs on consumer goods.
