Acciza la motorină, redusă cu 25% pentru 1–15 septembrie 2026: "E o intervenţie temporară"

The Romanian Ministry of Finance has increased the temporary reduction of the diesel excise tax from 20% to 25% for the period of September 1-15, 2026. This measure aims to alleviate fiscal pressure on prices amid rising international fuel costs. The adjustment results in a decrease of 701.07 lei per 1,000 liters, setting the effective excise tax at 2,103.22 lei per 1,000 liters. The decision reflects recent market dynamics and is part of a mechanism established by Law no. 162/2026, which allows for bi-weekly evaluations. The ministry will continue to monitor market indicators and adjust the excise tax accordingly.
