Academicianul Ionel Haiduc a murit. Fostul președinte al Academiei Române avea 89 de ani

Ionel Haiduc, a prominent Romanian chemist and former president of the Romanian Academy, has passed away at the age of 89. His death was announced by the Cluj-Napoca branch of the Academy. Haiduc led the Academy from 2006 to 2014 and was a member since 1991. He made significant contributions to various fields of chemistry, including organometallic compounds and supramolecular chemistry, publishing over 350 scientific works. He also mentored many students and was a visiting professor worldwide. His legacy includes a notable book on supramolecular chemistry, which opened new research directions. Haiduc's impact on Romanian science and culture is widely recognized.
