Abhijeet Dipke, fondatorul „Partidului Gândacilor”, a fost reținut înaintea unui protest masiv împotriva Comisiei Electorale
Indian police arrested Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party, ahead of an unauthorized protest against the Election Commission. The party reported the arrest on social media, along with images of Dipke's arrival in New Delhi. Opposition groups, including the Cockroach Party, have been challenging the removal of 130 million voters from electoral rolls, alleging that the ruling BJP aims to suppress minority voting. The Election Commission denied any irregularities in the process. Over 20,000 police were deployed in New Delhi to prevent protests, with metro stations closed and internet access disrupted. The Cockroach Party, formed in May, ironically adopted its name after a Supreme Court comparison of young activists to pests.
