Winter has arrived in Romania, with snowfall reported on Transfăgărășan and temperatures dropping below 0°C. The first snowflakes fell overnight, leading to a significant temperature drop in mountainous areas. The National Meteorological Administration forecasts further snowfall and a decrease in temperatures by 8-12 degrees across the country. Maximum temperatures will generally reach only 14-21°C, with nighttime lows dropping to around 2°C in some regions. Snowfall is expected to continue in the mountains, with possible mixed precipitation at higher altitudes. The weather change is also accompanied by rain, with local amounts reaching 20-30 l/m².
