Approximately 300 people gathered for the eighth consecutive night outside the Central Arrest in Bucharest to protest the preventive arrest of Călin Georgescu. Supporters chanted slogans in favor of Georgescu, who is currently under preventive arrest for 30 days. They displayed banners and some wore traditional Romanian costumes. Prosecutors from DIICOT have summoned Georgescu's wife, Cristela, as a witness, while conducting searches on electronic devices related to the case. Cristela expressed concerns about political persecution and violations of fundamental rights. The Bucharest Court of Appeal upheld the preventive arrest of Georgescu and businessman Ionel Rusen, who are accused of defrauding another businessman of 1.1 million euros.
