He was a national champion before becoming a coach at Torpedo Zărnești, where he trained numerous cyclists and contributed to national junior teams. Grosu also ran for the presidency of the Romanian Cycling Federation in 2017 and was a member of its Technical Commission. His son, Eduard, is a notable cyclist who achieved significant milestones, including competing in the Giro d’Italia.
