Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, known as the 'queen of polka dots', passed away at 97, with her death announced by her company. Her vibrant art, influenced by personal traumas, featured signature polka dots and infinity motifs. Kusama's career spanned decades, and she continued painting until her final days. Born in 1929, she became a prominent figure in the New York avant-garde scene after moving to the U.S. in the late 1950s. Her works included large-scale paintings and provocative performances. Returning to Japan in the 1970s, she voluntarily entered a psychiatric hospital, where she lived and worked until her death. Her installations and sculptures gained immense popularity and value.
