A murit Ioan Stoica, legendă a ciclismului românesc

Former Romanian cyclist Ioan Stoica passed away at the age of 85, as announced by the Steaua Bucharest Sports Club. Stoica was a member of Steaua from 1956 to 1965 and later served as a coach. He achieved notable success, including two medals at the Peace Race, a significant amateur cycling event. After his competitive career, he remained involved in sports as a coach and educator, passing on his passion to future generations, including his son Vlad Stoica, president of the Romanian Triathlon Federation. Vlad praised his father's impact as a champion and mentor. A memorial service will be held at the Teiul Doamnei Ghika Church in Bucharest, with the burial scheduled at Bellu Catolic Cemetery.
