A murit Dumitru Marcu, legendă la Universitatea Craiova

Romanian football mourns the loss of Dumitru Marcu, a former national team player and two-time champion with Universitatea Craiova, who passed away at 76. The Romanian Football Federation and the Professional Football League announced his death, and a moment of silence will be observed during the upcoming Superliga matches. Marcu, known as 'Motoreta', had a significant impact at Universitatea Craiova, winning two league titles and two Romanian Cups. He started his career at CFR Caracal and later played for Steaua București before achieving his greatest successes with Craiova. Marcu also represented Romania 16 times, scoring three goals, including two in a famous 9-0 victory over Finland.
