Yehuda Aharon Widawski, the oldest Holocaust survivor from Israel, passed away at 107. Born in Poland, he dedicated decades to preserving Jewish graves. Widawski was born on July 26, 1919, in Turek and later moved to Łódź, where his family ran a textile business. During WWII, they were forced into the Łódź ghetto and later deported to Auschwitz, where many family members were killed. Widawski and his brother survived forced labor until liberation in 1945. After the war, he established a textile factory and moved to Israel in 1950. In 1978, he returned to Poland to find his grandmother's grave, leading to a lifelong project of restoring Jewish cemeteries, identifying over 3,000 graves.
