The oldest person in Romania, Noja Paladia, has passed away at the age of 111, as announced by local authorities. She was recognized as the first documented supercentenarian woman in the country, having lived through two world wars and leaving behind a significant legacy across four generations. Born on July 20, 1915, she was also the oldest person in the Balkans and ranked 124th globally among the longest-living individuals. Following her death on September 14, the title of the oldest person in Romania now belongs to Iosif Rus, while Viorica Vețian is the oldest woman.
