The construction of Romania's tallest viaduct on the Sibiu-Pitești highway has begun, marking a significant phase in the project. State Secretary Horațiu Cosma announced the incremental launching of the metal deck, which will reach a height of 50 meters. The project includes advanced engineering solutions, such as movable scaffolding systems and bridge launching techniques, to navigate the challenging terrain. The overall project encompasses 50 bridges and viaducts, 7 tunnels, and extensive excavations, aiming to enhance connectivity in the region. Authorities are also working on environmental approvals to finalize construction permits.
