A început forarea tunelurilor de metrou pe secțiunea de nord a Magistralei 6, spre Aeroportul Otopeni
One of the two TBM machines for the construction of Metro Line 6 in Bucharest has started boring tunnels between the future stations Brussels and Tokyo. Transport Minister Ștefan Ovidiu Popa announced this on Facebook, expressing his satisfaction to begin his term at the construction site. The TBM machines will be named after saints, reflecting a tradition in naming such equipment. The boring process will occur in two phases, first from Brussels to Tokyo, then towards Henri Coandă Airport. The northern section is 34% complete, while the southern section is at 78%. The entire line will span approximately 14 kilometers, connecting the metro network to the airport, with completion expected by early 2029. Popa emphasized the need for timely funding from the Ministry of Transport to ensure project completion.
