The law abrogating certain provisions of the Government Emergency Ordinance regarding the Administrative Code, related to conflicts of interest and incompatibility, has been promulgated by President Nicușor Dan. The Senate approved the bill, which removes specific articles that defined conflicts of interest for contractual staff. This change aims to enhance legislative predictability and prevent operational disruptions in public institutions. An amendment ensures that situations arising during a transitional period will not be considered conflicts of interest, avoiding potential legal liabilities. The abrogated provisions previously required contractual staff to abstain from decision-making in conflict situations and mandated reporting to superiors.
