The Senate Education Committee has decided to eliminate the additional admission exam for high school, initially set for 2027. This measure, part of the 2023 education law, allowed high schools to hold a parallel competition with the National Assessment, but senators unanimously voted to abandon it. The decision was made on September 2, and the Ministry of Education will issue a new order to update the admission methodology. Additionally, working groups will be formed to reorganize the National Assessment, currently limited to Romanian language and mathematics tests. The Minister of Education noted that the 2023 law lacked necessary details for implementing the additional exam, which should have been clarified earlier.
