A fost descoperită o posibilă explicație pentru pierderea gustului după COVID-19. Ce se întâmplă în organism
Research indicates that some individuals experience persistent taste disorders long after COVID-19 infection due to changes in taste cells. A study from the University of Colorado Anschutz and Swedish universities found molecular and structural alterations in taste cells, linking these changes to ongoing taste issues. Among 28 participants analyzed, many reported difficulties with specific tastes, while others showed normal taste buds but structural disorganization. The protein PLCβ2, crucial for taste signal transmission, was found to be reduced, explaining why certain tastes are more affected. Further research is needed to explore potential treatments and recovery of taste function.
