An emergency operation has been initiated on the Danube to secure water supply for the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant due to low water levels. The Romanian Army is conducting controlled detonations of a rock in the riverbed and plans to block the Bala arm by sinking four barges. Initial tests have been successfully completed, and over 100 military personnel are involved in the operation. The aim is to redirect more water to the power plant, ensuring its safe operation.
