Romanian authorities have successfully sunk the second of four barges in the Danube to redirect water flow towards the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant. This operation aims to increase water levels amid severe drought conditions affecting the river. The controlled sinking process involves careful positioning of the barges to create artificial thresholds that will help redirect water. The first two barges are already in place, with the remaining two to be positioned upstream.
