A 51-year-old woman from Pojorâta lost around €45,000 in a scam promising her an inheritance from France. The fraudsters contacted her via WhatsApp and email, convincing her she was the beneficiary of a significant sum. They provided fake documents to support their claims and requested various fees for processing the inheritance. Despite suspecting fraud in 2023, she continued to send money, believing she would recover her payments and receive the inheritance. Police have opened a criminal case for fraud.
