A blow to the gambling industry. Revenue fell by 16% in the first six months

In the first half of 2026, revenue from gambling and recreational activities in Romania decreased by 16% compared to 2025. Overall market services also saw a decline of 9.1%. The hotel and restaurant sector experienced a 12% drop, while beauty services fell by 13.9%. Conversely, travel agencies reported a 17.4% revenue increase. June data indicates a continued downward trend, with gambling revenue down 17%.
