A 36-year-old man from Iași was sentenced to two years in prison with a suspended sentence for assaulting a police officer during an intervention. The officer was injured and required hospitalization. The incident occurred on September 13, 2024, after police responded to a report of an assault. The man, who was intoxicated, resisted arrest and attacked the officer. The court considered his lack of prior convictions and stable employment in determining the sentence. The ruling is currently under appeal.
