BMW has unveiled the 8th generation of the 3 Series, which exclusively features gasoline engines, marking a departure from diesel options. While sharing the Neue Klasse design with the electric i3, the new 3 Series retains the older CLAR platform. The top variant, M350 xDrive, boasts a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine producing 437 horsepower, outperforming the previous M340i. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds, faster than the electric i3 50 xDrive. The new model emphasizes driving pleasure and will be available in various configurations, including a mild-hybrid version. A plug-in hybrid variant is expected in 2027, while the base model, BMW 318, offers 154 horsepower.
