For the 16th consecutive night, supporters gathered outside the Central Arrest in the capital to back Călin Georgescu, who was arrested for fraud. Around 150 people attended, waving Romanian flags and holding banners demanding his release. They chanted slogans in support of Georgescu, who is set to be placed under house arrest after a judge annulled his preventive arrest. The decision is not final, and he will remain in custody until the appeal is heard. Georgescu was arrested on September 29 for forming a criminal group and committing serious fraud, following a complaint from a businessman who claims to have lost 1.1 million euros.
