83 cases of West Nile virus infection, five deaths, between 3 June and 9 September
Between June 3 and September 9, 83 West Nile virus cases were reported in Romania, with five fatalities among elderly patients. The National Institute of Public Health noted 72 confirmed and 11 probable cases across various counties, including Bucharest with the highest number. Experts advise the public to take precautions against mosquito bites, such as wearing protective clothing and using repellents.
