A metal detectorist discovered 82 WWII mortar shells in Băile Tușnad, Harghita County, near farmland. The area is believed to be the crash site of an American plane during the war. Emergency services took hours to safely remove the shells, with one being particularly dangerous due to its intact fuse. This find marks the largest quantity of WWII mortar ammunition ever found in Harghita, and the shells will be destroyed at a designated range.
