The National Company for Road Investments is evaluating seven route options for the Bucharest-Giurgiu highway, which will connect to the Giurgiu-Ruse 2 Bridge and the Ruse-Veliko Tarnovo highway. This strategic project aims to enhance transport standards and safety while reducing pollution. The analysis will select the top two routes based on multi-criteria evaluation. The project is led by a consortium and is valued at 33 million lei, with an 18-month duration. The Ruse-Veliko Tarnovo highway is also progressing, expected to be completed by the end of 2028.
