On September 7, 1907, the renowned Romanian writer Bogdan Petriceicu Hașdeu passed away, deeply affected by the loss of his daughter, Julia. His grief led him to explore spiritism, paralleling the experiences of other notable figures like Victor Hugo. Hașdeu, born in 1838, was a prominent intellectual and cultural figure, known for his contributions to literature and philosophy. His work, including the book "Sic Cogito," reflects his tragic worldview. He built a castle-temple in Câmpina in memory of his daughter, where he spent his final days. Hașdeu was buried in Bucharest, alongside Julia, in a tomb he designed himself. This date also marks the deaths of writer Eugen Barbu and actor Ilarion Ciobanu, as well as the birth of aviator Mariana Drăgescu and soprano Angela Gheorghiu.
